Renal Pathology
- NextGenPath Diagnostics on an average handles more than 500 native and allograft renal biopsies a year.
- Renal pathology is a sub-speciality of Histopathology that deals with diseases of native and allograft kidney.
- Renal biopsy interpretation requires an expert renal pathologist, a panel of special stains and immunoflourescence with or without immunohistochemistry, ultrastructural and molecular studies.
- Method of sending the biopsy to our lab: two cores of adequate length (1.5 to 2cm) from a 16G needle in 10% neutral buffered formalin and Michel’s transport medium.
- The renal biopsy kit containing the fixatives will be provided from our lab.
- 2.5% buffered glutaraldehyde for electron microscopy will be provided at request.
- Samples are received 24×7 on all days.
- Learning is a continuous process and we believe that teaching and publishing relevant research are the greatest contributions to the society apart from our patient care services.
- NextGenPath Archives serves as an excellent freely available online resource for case-based learning of renal pathology.
