NextGenPath Diagnostics on an average handles more than 100 nerve biopsies a year.
Nerve pathology is a sub-speciality of neuropathology that deals with diseases of peripheral nervous system.
We are the only standalone diagnostic center that has an expert in interpreting nerve biopsy and skin biopsy (small fiber neuropathy) along with a panel of special stains, immunohistochemistry with or without ultrastructural and molecular studies.
Method of sending the peripheral nerve biopsy to our lab: two segments of peripheral nerve/fascicle: 2cm length of segment in 10% neutral buffered formalin and 1cm length of segment in 2.5% buffered glutaraldehyde.
Method of sending the skin biopsy to our lab: two 3-4mm punch biopsies of skin: One in 10% neutral buffered formalin and the other in Michel's transport medium.
The nerve biopsy kit containing the fixatives will be provided from our lab.
Samples are received 24x7 on all days.

Learning is a continuous process and we believe that teaching and publishing relevant research are the greatest contributions to the society apart from our patient care services.
NextGenPath Archives serves as an excellent freely available online resource for case-based learning of nerve pathology.
