Surgical neuropathology interpretation requires an expert in non-neoplastic and neoplastic conditions of brain and spinal cord, a basic knowledge of MRI sequences, panel of special stains with or without immunohistochemistry, ultrastructural and molecular studies.
Method of sending the biopsy to our lab: Neurosurgical biopsies and resection specimens need to be sent in 10% neutral buffered formalin and MRI report/images wherever feasible
